The elevator traction machine is the power equipment of the elevator, also known as the elevator main engine. The function is to transport and transmit power to make the elevator operate. It consists of an electric motor, brake, coupling, gearbox, traction wheel, frame and guide wheel, as well as an auxiliary disc wheel. The guide wheel is generally installed on the frame or the load-bearing beam under the frame. Some handwheels are fixed on the motor shaft, while others are usually hung on nearby walls and then fitted onto the motor shaft when in use.
